A new documentary explores a topic many teens can relate to, but many more don’t often talk about….anxiety.

Anxiety is one of the most common psychological complaints in the world, according to the World Health Organization. And teenagers are no stranger to it. A free film and conversation about anxiety and raising awareness around it takes place on Thursday, May 2nd at 6pm on the campus of Kent ISD.

In the documentary titled, “Angst”, mental health experts discuss the causes of anxiety, its sociological effects and what can be done about it. Students share their personal experiences with it and how anxiety impacts their lives. The film includes interviews with kids, teenagers, educators, experts, parents and Olympic swimmer Michael Phelps. It’s being hosted by MySchool@Kent at the Kent Career Tech Center in partnership with Kent Innovation High and Kent Transition Center.

The event is facilitated by trained staff and is free and open to the public. Seating is limited.
