Walker-based electrical services and technology firm Feyen Zylstra is expanding and adding 100 jobs.

Feyen Zylstra opened its doors in Grand Rapids in 1980. Over its 39-year history the focus on electrical services has evolved and more recently added its expertise in industrial technology. It’s a space known as Industry 4.0. This is where Feyen Zylstra assists manufacturers with streamlining automation, connectivity and data collection.

With growth and demand for manufacturing technology services, Feyen Zylstra is expanding to meet the need with help from partner, Coach Road Capital. Together a $5.3 million commitment is being made to remodel of a 20,000 square foot office and industrial lab space located on Walkent Dr. NW in Walker.

There were expansion options at its Tennessee and South Carolina sites, but it opted for the Walker expansion with support from regional economic development organization, The Right Place, and a $570,000 Michigan Business Development Program performance-based grant through the Michigan Economic Development Corporation.

Feyen Zylstra says the expansion of its industrial technology services creates the need to add 100 employees.
