GVSU expanding downtown Grand Rapids health campus


Grand Valley State University is announcing plans for the construction of its third healthcare building along Grand Rapids Medical Mile. Grand Valley State University continues advancing projects making it the region’s number one provider of healthcare professionals.

The university announcing its breaking ground on a $70 million facility. The building will house health professions and nursing programs. The new construction next to Grand Valley's Cook-DeVos Center for Health Sciences is scheduled to break ground in June of 2018 and be completed in May of 2021.

The new structure supports GVSU’s continued expansion of its downtown Grand Rapids health campus supporting its College of Health Professions and the Kirkhof College of Nursing.

North of I-196 at the corner of Lafayette Ave NE and Hastings Street NE in the Belknap Neighborhood, GVSU is currently constructing the $37.5 million Raliegh J. Finkelstein Hall on 18 acres. The five-story, 84,000-square-foot building will include four classrooms, 15 teaching laboratories and office space. It will be completed in May 2018.
