Two companies located in the Grand Rapids area are adding more than one hundred jobs and have committed to investing millions of dollars in expansion.

In Grand Rapids, Denmark-based Gabriel, known for its upholstery products is expanding on the city’s West Side. At 560 5th St. NW, Gabriel will open its first North American sales and manufacturing location.

The company will invest $1.5 million dollars into the construction of a 30,000 square foot facility.

Regional non-profit economic development organization The Right Place, has been working with Gabriel over the past year and Express Employment Professionals of Grand Rapids will assist with identifying talent for filling 56 jobs created at the new location.

A little further west, Walker-based Custom Profile, is expanding after acquiring a Wisconsin company specializing plastic extrusion and finishing.

The relocation and expansion at 2535 Waldorf Ct. NW, will require an investment of nearly $2.3 million over the next three years.

The Right Place is also involved in project helping to secure a $216,000 performance-based grant from the Michigan Economic Development Corporation.

Custom Profile says it will add 54 new jobs in the process.
