Authorities suspend lake search for missing 16-year-old

Authorities have suspended the search near a popular Lake Michigan beach for a 16-year-old boy who didn't resurface after a small boat capsized.

The search began Sunday night for Riley Hoeksema near Holland State Park beach in western Michigan.

The Ottawa County sheriff's department said the search continued Monday morning, but the focus had changed from a possible rescue effort to a recovery effort.

The U.S. Coast later suspended its efforts Monday after searching nearly 120 square miles of Lake Michigan.

The sheriff's department says two 16-year-olds were out in a boat when it capsized during a turn.

Levi Winkle was pulled from the water by a passing boater.

Authorities say the teens were from the Holland area.
