Authorities search Lake Michigan for missing 16-year-old

Authorities are searching the water near a popular Lake Michigan beach for a 16-year-old boy who didn't resurface after a small boat capsized.

The search began Sunday night for Riley Hoeksema near Holland State Park beach in western Michigan.

The Ottawa County sheriff's department says the search continued Monday morning, but the focus had changed from a possible rescue effort to a recovery effort.

The sheriff's department says two 16-year-olds were out in a boat when it capsized during a turn.

They say one was pulled from the water by a passing boater.

The U.S. Coast Guard is involved in the search.

Authorities say the teens were from the Holland area.
