Police are investigating a bomb threat that locked down a Holland school district on Friday morning.

The Holland Department of Public Safety says the threat was called in to Holland Christian Schools at about 10:18 a.m.

Officials say a lock-down procedure was initiated and all school buildings were searched before students and staff were allowed to return to class.

Police say the call, which used a digitally-enhanced or computer-generated voice, was not specific to any building and has since been deemed a hoax.

Local, state and federal officials are involved in the investigation, as well as other areas that have received similar threats.

The preschool through 12th grade district has about 1,700 students in five buildings.

Anyone who has information on the incident is asked to contact Holland Public Safety at 616-355-1150 or policetips@cityofholland.com, or Silent Observer at 1-877-887-4536, texting OCMTIP to 274637 or mosotips.com.
