Voters renew Holland transit levy

catchamax.org

Holland voters approved renewal of a public transit millage by a wide margin on Tuesday.

The five-year, .4 mill levy helps fund Macatawa Area Express – or MAX – transportation operations.

It’s expected to raise about $906,000 annually.

About 82 percent of city of Holland and Holland Township voters approved the measure, according to unofficial election results.

The annual levy represents about 21 percent of the transit authority's overall budget.
