Gov. Rick Snyder will add another representative for Flint to a panel working on fixes to the city's lead-tainted water crisis.

An order he signed Friday lets the city council recommend a member, subject to the governor's approval.

The Flint Water Interagency Coordinating Committee will now have 18 members.

Snyder also released the final round of planned "sentinel" testing to determine if the water is safe after the addition of chemicals that were not used when Flint switched to local river water, corroding pipes.

Snyder says the water system continues to slowly improve, but the presence of unpredictable and random spikes of lead means Flint is not in compliance with federal rules.

Residents should use water filters.

Pregnant or nursing women and children under age 6 should use bottled water.
