Firstronic continues Grand Rapids expansion

firstronic.com

As world demand for electronics manufacturing continues to increase, Firstronic is meeting the demand with its second growth project in three years.

New technologies built into everyday products means the Grand Rapids-based company must keep up with demand.

The maker of circuit board assemblies is making a $1.85 million investment in automation technology, training and capacity.

Regional non-profit economic development organization, The Right Place, along with the Michigan Economic Development Corporation and the city of Grand Rapids have approved a $200,000 performance-based grant.

Firstronic will also create 50 new jobs.

Back in 2013 it added 110 new jobs after making a $2.45 million expansion.

Patrick joined WGVU Public Media in December, 2008 after eight years of investigative reporting at Grand Rapids' WOOD-TV8 and three years at WYTV News Channel 33 in Youngstown, Ohio.
