A former office coordinator at Grand Valley State University has been charged with embezzlement in connection with the theft of more than $50,000 from the western Michigan school.
The Grand Rapids Press reports Friday that 44-year-old Lynnea MacGeorge was arraigned Wednesday in Hudsonville District Court.
University spokeswoman Mary Eilleen Lyon says MacGeorge resigned in June from the Athletic and Recreation Facilities Management office on the Allendale campus.
She had worked there since 2008.
Employees reported missing funds earlier this year.
An investigation was started in June.
MacGeorge has been released on a $3,000 bond pending a Nov. 19 probable cause hearing.
