The second dedicated millage in two years for city of Muskegon road funding was voted down on Tuesday.
A city of Muskegon charter amendment adding two mills for road funding failed with about 55 percent of votes, according to unofficial county election numbers.
The proposal would’ve increased the city property tax limit from 10 mills to 12, and amended the city charter. Those two mills were to be dedicated exclusively to street repairs, maintenance and construction.
It was estimated to raise about $1 million annually.
City voters denied a 4-mill road funding ballot proposal last November.
