Rev. Fred Wooden joins Common Threads to discuss pilgrimage and his book ‘Basho and I Take a Long Walk.’
Fred was pastor of Fountain Street Church in Grand Rapids from 2005 until he retired in 2020. He has served on the board of the West Michigan ACLU, the GR Interfaith Dialogue Association, Opera Grand Rapids, and as a part of the Religion and Ethics Panel for the Grand Rapids Press. Fred was host of “Faith & Reason” on a local radio station for seven years, and was a candidate for Congress in 2018. He is most proud of being a member of the Grand Rapids Urban League Board for over 10 years, serving as its Chair from 2009-2013.
