Global aerospace and defense firm expanding West Michigan location

$2.6 million investment creating up to 50 jobs.

L3Harris Technologies is expanding its Cascade Township operations. The aerospace and defense technologies innovator known for its defense and commercial systems spanning air, sea, land and space along with a focus on cyber domains is investing $2.6 million in its 52nd Street SE location. That’s where 240 are employed with another dozen on-boarding over the next few weeks. The expansion will create up to 50 more jobs. Worldwide it employs 48,000.

L3Harris was considering out-of-state locations for its expansion. Economic development organization, The Right Place, along with the Michigan Economic Development Corporation worked with L3Harris providing a $500,000 performance-based grant through the Michigan Strategic Fund securing the local expansion.
