Not just about fun and games, play is an important teaching tool! Through playgroups, young children learn social-emotional and communication skills; build their physical, cognitive, and creative skills; boost their confidence; and enhance their connections with caregivers. For caregivers, play groups provide a connection with their child, other parents, and professionals. Play and Learn groups also provide caregivers with the strategies, tools, information and resources to help prepare for their child’s success.

In their continued efforts to support families during COVID-19, Play and Learn groups are providing adapted, safe opportunities for caregivers and children to engage in meaningful play. How can a Play and Learn group benefit your family? Here to discuss, Sarah Miller, Assistant Programs Director & Dance/Movement Therapist at the Comprehensive Therapy Center and Kathleen Neumann, Child Development Community Liaison with Grand Rapids Community College share what to expect and the benefits of Play & Learn groups.
