Van Andel Institute's Dr. Nick Burton has been named a 2025 Pew Scholar in the Biomedical Sciences, one of just 22 early career researchers nationwide to receive this prestigious honor. The award recognized innovative, high impact research with the potential to advance human health. He will also be the featured speaker in VAI's November lecture series. We talk with Nick.

The Secret Book Society centers upon a forbidden book club in Victorian London, and the women that join in order to escape society's restraints. The work is inspired by a real life Cinderella-esque story of the Victorian era. Author Madeline Martin talks about the themes, including feeling judged by what you read.

How do the proposed cuts to cancer research affecting the future of Cancer Innovation and Care? We turn to the Chair of the Department of Cancer Care Services at Corewell Health and Chief of Hematology at MSU Dr. Anas Al-Janadi.

Gilda's Club presents the annual West Side Walk and Block Party on September 27th. Now is the time to register and sponsor. We talk to Sierra Belz about the family friendly kick off at 11. It's a fund and friendraiser for very important programming.
