Mel Trotter Ministries celebrated the Easter Holiday yesterday with the annual Community Meal. We talk to Chris Palusky about the event, its outcome, and its community impact. Mel Trotter is the largest provider of services to people experiencing homelessness in West Michigan.

Ottawa County has a news network, the Ottawa News Network. An online site launched in late December, run by Sarah Dahlman, former Executive Editor of the Holland Sentinel. The network’s vision is to build a nonprofit newsroom that ensures all people in Ottawa County have access to trusted news. We talk to Sarah.

The Grand Rapids Chamber of Commerce hosts the local final of the National Civics Bee for Middle Schoolers at the Gerald R Ford Presidential Museum. We talk to the Chamber’s Andy Johnston about this initiative aimed at encouraging more young American’s to engage in civics.

This week SpartanNash hosted its second annual Helping Hands Day at DeVos Place, approximately 850 of Associates, plus supplier and non profit partners packed 500,000 meals for disaster victims across the country. The roving mic was on site.
