Community Rebuilders, Clergy on Patrol, Grow1000 Summer Youth Employment program, DTE Energy Foundation, and The Special Blessing for You.

A joint effort is taking place to provide stable housing for the City of GR’s most vulnerable populations. We talk to Vera Beech, ED of Community Rebuilders, discussing the partnership with Eenhoorn to redevelop the East Fulton Units, for 40 individuals as they look to rebuild lives.

Look for Clergy on Patrol. We talk to two such in the throws of the ride alongs, GRPD’s Captain Terry Dixon and Pastor Steve Pierce, Central Reformed Church, talk about this bond while on the job, both sides benefiting as will the community.

Applications are now available for the Grow1000 Summer Youth Employment program, teens encouraged to apply to earn money while gaining and enhancing workplace skills. The City’s Shannon Harris talks about the plan to hire nearly 200 young people, 15-24 year old.

DTE Energy Foundation invites community transformation focused nonprofits to apply for grant support. We talk to President Rodney Cole about this $150,000 to be shared across 2 or more Michigan nonprofits focused upon local community transformation and revitalization.

Local authors Eric and Merideth Schrotenboer release a new picture book, The Special Blessing for You, introducing children to the blessing in the Bible that many pastors use to bless their congregations with at the end of a service. We talk this couple, locally published by Zonderkidz.
