A few dozen people from Lansing’s faith-based communities gathered on the capitol lawn today for an apology for slavery.

The bill, introduced by Representative Cynthia A. Johnson on Tuesday, would allot $1,500,000,000.00 to a racial equity and reparations fund for African Americans in Michigan.
