In October 2023, two Michigan House Lodging tax bills were introduced that would allow for local and county governments to increase the tax rate on hotel/motel stays. Months have passed, and Governor Gretchen Whitmer has yet to sign off on the measures that would face voter approval. WGVU’s Patrick Center spoke with Josh Lunger.
