Car Bomb Blamed in Deadly Hotel Blast
The U.S. military says a suicide car bombing caused the massive explosion that destroyed the Mount Lebanon Hotel in downtown Baghdad Wednesday, killing and wounding dozens of people. But on the streets, angry Iraqis blame U.S. missiles for the blast. Meanwhile in Baquba, at least six people are killed in two separate attacks on Iraqi journalists and a U.S.-funded TV station. Site Posts Video of U.S. Civilian Beheaded in Iraq
An Islamic militant Web site posts video purporting to show the beheading of U.S. civilian Nick Berg, 26, at the hands of masked men in Iraq. Berg had been missing since April 9; his decapitated body was found Saturday. A voice on the tape tied the killing to abuses at the Abu Ghraib prison; it also invoked the name of al Qaeda ally Abu Musab al-Zarqawi. Hear NPR's Michele Kelemen.

Red Cross: Systematic Abuse at Iraqi Prisons
Abuse of Iraqi prisoners by U.S.-led forces was widespread and systematic, according to a report by the International Committee of the Red Cross. Libyan leader Moammar Gadhafi travels to Europe for the first time in 15 years, meeting with European Union officials in Brussels. The session, seen as a reward for Gadhafi's decision to renounce weapons of mass destruction, comes as Libya remains under fire by human rights groups who say the country suppresses dissent. Bush Silent on Details of Sept. 11 Panel Meeting
President Bush says he's come away feeling good about his Oval Office meeting with the Sept. 11 commission. He and Vice President Cheney spent more than three hours in a private session with the panel.
