The New York Stock Exchange is merging with the European stock market Euronext. The deal would create an international stock trading network, with outposts in the U.S. and across Europe. The move is the biggest so far in a trend toward cross-border stock trading.

But for Monty Coles, an amateur pilot in West Virginia, the title became a reality when a four-and-a-half-foot snake hitched a ride in his small plane.

Interest Rates to Rise for Student Loans
It is about to get more expensive for many graduates to pay off college loans. Effective July 1, interest rates on two main financial aid programs, Stafford and Plus loans, will be rising. Those still in school, or who haven't yet begun paying back their loans, still have a time to lock in a lower interest rate.

President Bush reveals what he said were new details of a failed al Qaeda plot in 2002 to crash a plane into the tallest building on the West Coast. The president also said that global cooperation has significantly weakened the terrorist network since the attacks of Sept. 11, 2001.
