Voters across West Michigan headed to the polls Tuesday to consider a number of proposals, and the results were mixed across the board, as some easily passed, while others failed to get enough votes.

Beginning in Muskegon County, where voters in Fruitport voted ‘yes’ to an $8 million bond proposal that will pay for upgrades including artificial turf for the high school  stadium and convert the middle school pool into a gym.

While at Reeths-Puffer Schools, officials were disappointed Tuesday after voters said ‘no’ to a $23 million bond proposal that would have helped update the district's buildings and facilities.

In Ravenna, a split decision as voters considered two proposals: Voters approved the first totaling $10.89 million-- that will fund a number of renovation projects, including a new secure entry to the high school.

While that proposal will not increase the tax rate for homeowners, a second proposal that would have upgraded the district’s performing arts facilities came with a 0.9-mill tax increase price tag--which residents ultimately rejected.

To Kent County now, where there is good news for Kentwood Public Schools, as voters approved a $192 million bond that will update the district's digital infrastructure and technology.

Meanwhile, voters in Kelloggsville also supported a two-year renewal of a millage that the public school district says will fund current programs and activities.
