Jury deliberations to start Tuesday in trial of ex-MSU dean

npr.com

A jury is expected to begin deliberations tomorrow in the trial of former Michigan State University Dean, William Strampel.  Strampel is accused of two felonies and two misdemeanors.

Strampel was the dean of the College of Osteopathic Medicine at MSU.  Prosecutors say he used his position as dean to try to get sexual favors from female students.  They also say Strampel did not properly oversee Larry Nassar after an internal investigation.

Nassar is the former MSU sports doctor who sexually assaulted his patients for decades.

The trial has gone on for a little more than a week.  Testimony wrapped up after Strampel's attorney John Dakmak called two witnesses-both former MSU employees.

Attorneys for both sides will give closing arguments before the jury is given instructions and allowed to start deliberating.
