The voluntary national distancing guidelines have been extended to the end of the month. In accordance, one Grand Rapids hotel operator is modifying its operations.

Grand Rapids AHC Hospitality is combating the spread of COVID-19 by consolidating its downtown hotel service.

As of April 1st, it’s suspending J.W. Marriott Grand Rapids operations. Last week, it suspended operations at the AC Hotel Grand Rapids Downtown and Courtyard by Marriott Grand Rapids Downtown.

Services are now consolidated under the roof of the Amway Grand Plaza, Curio Collection by Hilton.

Room service delivery will continue along with foodservice from the Kitchen Counter by Wolfgang Puck.

Guest and staff are asked to adhere to COVID-19 social distancing guidelines.

Staffing levels are impacted by the changes. 1,000 employees are being furloughed eligible for unemployment insurance. AHC Hospitality will continue providing medical coverage at no cost.
