More places to fly out of G.R. today, as Allegiant Airlines adds three new non-stop routes of service.

Earlier today Allegiant Airlines announced its adding service from Grand Rapids to Los
Angeles, Boston and Austin, Texas.  The new seasonal flights will run twice a week out of Gerald R. Ford International airport.  Tara Hernandez is the Communications Director at the airport. She says this a win-win for the airport and the airline.

“That’s one thing with Allegiant. They’ve been keeping an eye on us and keeping an eye on West Michigan over the last several years to notice the growth that we have.  And we get asked all the time, how do you keep getting this great air service.  The airlines pay attention to us. And they see, not only the leisure side, but the business side of the market. And destinations like L.A., Boston and Austin are great fun leisure markets, but they’re also huge  business communities so we’re hoping our business partners utilize this new service and it’s a win-win across the board in that sense.”

Hernandez says flights to Boston start May 7th, Service to Austin, Texas kicks off May 22nd and the Los Angeles flights begin on June 5th.  With these additional routes, Allegiant now serves 14 cities out of Ford Airport.
