Health policy polling shows similar feelings across party lines

Polling of around a thousand Michiganders found lowering the cost of insurance premiums, supporting youth mental health, and keeping rural hospitals open were all top priorities across the political divide.
 
The cross-partisan group “Healthier United” is behind the survey.
 
CEO Jake Williams says that’s a good sign for getting things done after the election.
 
“I think it’s pretty clear here that there is a bipartisan agenda here that, no matter who wins this election, which is clearly contested, that there’s a way forward that is both a political winner and a real world winner in terms of supporting people’s well-being.”
 
The widest gaps between parties showed up in polling around “Medicare for All.” Most Democrats and Independents supported the proposal. Most Republicans opposed it.
