“The Women’s Owners Network is really helping build the foundation to get them to second stage and it’s building on what momentum they already have.”
Kim Bode is owner of Grand Rapids-based 8THRTYFOUR, a public relations and training agency. She says women start businesses at twice the rate of men, and walk away at the same rate, due to a lack of resources, support, and a network.
“These are not startups. These are women that are generating revenue, that maybe have one or two employees but are kind of like stuck or ready for that next growth period.”
Bode says after 19 years of owning her own business, it was time to offer women entrepreneurs what she desperately needed but couldn’t find: real support.
“Because no one will understand this journey and this absolute wild, insane ride that you signed up for than other business owners.”
The Women’s Owners Network is accepting applications through October 1st.
