AAA says gas prices in Michigan have set a new 2026 high.
Michigan drivers are now paying an average of $4.93 per gallon for regular unleaded. This price is 72 cents more than this time last month and $1.75 more than this time last year.
Adrienne Woodland, spokesperson, AAA-The Auto Club Group says, "Michigan drivers are seeing a significant increase at the pump, with gas prices climbing 62 cents in just one week and reaching their highest levels since July 2022," adding, "This sharp jump highlights the continued volatility of the global oil market and its impact on drivers."
Motorists are paying an average of $74 for a full 15-gallon tank of gasoline.This is an increase of about $23 from 2025's highest price last August.
