Statewide poll examines potential November Midterm Elections candidate matchups

EPIC-MRA survey focuses on Michigan's governor and U.S. Senate races

Lansing-based EPIC-MRA sampled 600 registered, likely November voters asking who they would vote for in matchups for governor and U.S. Senate.

In a gubernatorial contest between Democrat Jocelyn Benson and Republican John James, Benson leads by a 47% to 38% margin with 15% undecided. She maintains a similar 48% to 36% edge against Republican Perry Johnson with 16% undecided.

In the race for U.S. Senate, in a head-to-head between Democrat Haley Stevens and Republican Mike Rogers, Stevens holds a narrow 44% to 42% advantage with 14% undecided.

In a contest with Democrat Abdul El-Sayed, Republican Mike Rogers has a 46% to 43% advantage with 11% undecided.

In the survey, 43% identified as Democrat, 40% Republican, 12% Independent, 5% were undecided or refused to participate. The survey has a plus/minus 4% margin of error. It was conducted last week and commissioned by the Michigan Information and Research Service.
