A week ahead of the August 4th primary, the Michigan Secretary of State’s office recorded more than 832,000 residents have already cast their ballots.
That’s a turnout rate of over 11% of all registered active voters.
More than 1.9 million have requested a mail-in ballot for the election.
Roughly 800,000 already mailed in an absentee ballot up 38% from 2024, while more than 30,000 cast theirs in-person at an early voting site in the first three days after opening July 25th.
Mail-in ballots must be received in clerks’ offices by 8 P.M. election night, August 4th.
Voters can return ballots in a local drop box or hand-deliver to their clerk’s office.
Michiganders who have not registered to vote can do so at their clerk’s office and vote by absentee ballot until polls close election day.
