“Yayyyy”
Although she wound up winning Grace Hanke of Hazel Park, says win or lose she was excited to be in Muskegon participating in the 87th Miss Michigan pageant,
“I was just trying to soak it all in so I could remember it no matter what happened.”
19-year-old Hanke is a mechanical engineering student at University of Detroit Mercy. This was her second trip to Muskegon for the Miss Michigan Pageant. Last year as Miss St. Clair Shores she did not reach the semifinals.
“I have worked so hard coming up to this point and I truly could not be happier.”
Hanke wins a 10-thousand-dollar scholarship and will represent Michigan in the Miss America Pageant later this summer in West Palm Beach, Florida.
“I am so, so grateful and I am so proud of myself.”
