The warden at Michigan's only women’s prison has been temporarily replaced.

The Department of Corrections says Warden Jeremy Howard has been placed on "personal leave."

This comes after public scrutiny over three recent deaths within a month at Women’s Huron Valley correctional facility.

Jacara Moore spent 8 years in the facility under Howard's leadership.

“I hope that the next warden can be a listener and just show that they care like actions speak louder than words show that you care.”

Michelle Floyd has spent over 6 years as the warden at Cooper Street Correctional Facility near Jackson.

She is assigned to replace Howard for now.
