Joe Trigg has been selected to lead the Grand Rapids Police Department as Police Chief. He was one of four finalists for the position.
City Manager Mark Washington chose Trigg after a series of interview panels and community forums were completed. Trigg had been serving as interim chief of police after the retirement of Eric Winstrom in March.
Trigg has served with GRPD for more than 25-years. He is a graduate of Lansing Community College Police Academy and completed criminal justice and juvenile justice coursework at Grand Valley State University.
Trigg's appointment is effective Monday, June 22nd. He will be sworn in as chief of police June 29th.
