The idea behind the Around the World Downtown Scavenger Hunt is to highlight global soccer culture while driving foot traffic to downtown merchants.
Participants must pick up a game passport at the DGRI office during business hours; 250 are available on a first come first served basis starting Thursday June 11 running through Friday July 24.
Everyone who picks up a passport receives a gift.
Players then visit participating businesses to collect stickers representing every country playing in the World Cup.
Once all stickers are collected, the passport must be returned to the DGRI office to be entered in a drawing for soccer-themed prizes from Gazelle Sports and AC Grand Rapids, the region’s new professional soccer team.
The first person to turn in a completed passport wins a grand prize tour of Amway
Stadium where Grand Rapid’s men’s professional team will begin playing in 2027.
Details and maps are on the DGRI website.
