Michigan Republican Congressman John James has frequently used a design featuring his name and the word “governor.”
Rival Republican gubernatorial candidate Perry Johnson accused the Congressman of purposely NOT saying “James FOR governor” in the logo, to create the false impression that he already held the office.
That’s a misdemeanor under Michigan law.
Now a judge is issuing a preliminary injunction against James’ use of the logo.
An advisor to James claims on social media that the ruling violates a legal precedent, and indicates James will likely appeal the ruling.
