“We have AI today – you all have AI: actual intelligence.”
American tech entrepreneur, inventor and computer programmer Steve Wozniak was conferred with the first honorary doctorate in GVSU’s new College of Computing, honored for his contributions to the field.
“In Apple, we made ‘ease of use’ a big term. That meant to me that the human being in more important than the technology. Huh? That means the technologist has to put a lot of work so their product works in a normal human way that is intuitive and understandable to other humans.”
Wozniak shared stories from his career path developing inventions that shape modern computer technology, and had advice for innovations to come.
“Even if you have a job working at something you don’t want to do for life, you’re young.
You have free time. You can work out your own ideas if you don’t throw away your time.”
He shared his formula for success in life.
“To me life is not about accomplishment it’s about happiness, how you feel.I came up with my formula: H equals S minus F. Happiness equals smiles minus frowns.”
