The Finnish office pod maker is converting its current logistic center into a full-scale manufacturing facility

Finland-based Framery Group will begin converting its existing logistics center in Zeeland in 2026 with operations expected to reach full scale in 2027.

The new plant will focus on a new product line designed specifically for North American office customers.

The company is expected to grow from 30 to roughly 40 employees as Framery collaborates manufacturing with a local partner.

In a news release, company leaders stated, “Locating the manufacturing facility in Michigan, known as one of the world’s most significant hubs for the office furniture industry, provides Framery with access to a skilled workforce and efficient local supplier networks.”

Framery expects local manufacturing will allow for faster response to growing U.S. demand.

The operation should decrease dependence on global supply chains while lowering the company’s carbon footprint with reduced trans-Atlantic shipping.

Leaders also note the move mitigates risks from potential trade policy tensions.
