Apple Computer co-founder Steve Wozniak will give Grand Valley University Commencement speeches next month at Van Andel Arena.

Steve Wozniak designed the Apple I and Apple II personal computers. With Steve Jobs at his side, it was the beginning of Apple’s first line of computing products. The predecessors of the popular Macintosh launch in 1976. Fifty years later, the company is valued at $3.8 trillion.

Wozniak, known as a technology entrepreneur and philanthropist, will share his wisdom with Grand Valley State University graduates in early May. As Commencement Ceremonies guest speaker, Wozniak will take the Grand Rapids Van Andel Arena stage for three ceremonies May 1st and 2nd.

In a news release, Wozniak said, “GVSU’s commitment to innovation and community reflects the kind of environment where ideas take shape. The curiosity and collaboration I’ve seen in Grand Rapids reminds me why investing in people and ideas matters.” 

Wozniak recently visited Grand Rapids in September when he helped the city kick off Tech Week.
