Multi-million dollar mixed-use development approved for Grand Rapids' southwest side

David Limbaugh

The city of Grand Rapids is expected to support the project with $3.6 million in tax incentives

The $25 million mixed-use project is close to Grand Valley State University’s downtown campus and a short walk from both the Acrisure Amphitheater and the Amway Stadium.

Developers will demolish the former Adobe Mexican Kitchen in the 600 block of Fulton Street near Seward Avenue.

Plans include around 109 market-rate housing units, with studio apartments costing just over $1,400 a month and one-bedroom apartments costing just over $1,700 a month. Three retail spaces will also be available.

The Michigan Strategic Fund Board approved a Michigan Community Revitalization Program loan of $4.75 million for project developers Adobe Fulton, LLC. The board also approved a state tax capture worth up to $1.8 million.

The city of Grand Rapids is expected to support the project with $3.6 million in tax incentives.
