Terri DeBoer has been forecasting weather in West Michigan for more than three decades. The TV meteorologist who recently retired from FOX 17 has entered the Republican field in Michigan’s 3rd Congressional House District currently represented by incumbent Democrat Hillary Scholten.
DeBoer’s campaign website describes her life in a military family and lays out her priorities including policies for lowering the cost of living, protecting the vulnerable and keeping communities safe. The Byron Center resident supports a fully secure border, healthcare transparency and parents’ medical care and education rights.
DeBoer will face Grand Rapids attorney J. Allen Fiorletta in the Republican primary election. Scholten will face challenger Zachary Ketchum from Muskegon in the Democratic primary election August 4th.
