More than four million guests chose to fly through Gerald R. Ford International Airport in 2025.
4,303,696 to be exact.
“And you mentioned the number, this marks the 3rd year where we’ve seen record numbers. And really, it’s a reflection of a very positive growing community. We know west Michiganders like to travel, we see the community growing and that all feeds into this. And so we’re really excited about it.”
That’s Tory Richardson, CEO and President of Geral R. Ford International Airport. He says the success of the airport stems from a great team.
“Really sharing it with all of our stakeholders here. the 4.3 is a passenger number, but we have about two thousand employees on the campus on any given day. They might be working for the rental cars, the airlines, and so there are a lot of people that might come together every, single day.”
Richardson says they are continually working on the flight “experience” at the airport. From ongoing efforts to improve the rental car facility to the sensory room and more. And thre’s more to come…ongoing plans include relocating the air traffic control tower and a terminal enhancement project, coming in 2027.
