Ladder Homes has operated seven homes serving 30 residents since 1990. It supports individuals with mental illness or substance use challenges as they work toward long-term stability. Residents pay their own rent and receive case management support.
Now, with the forthcoming retirement of its executive director, Rick VanTil Sr., Hope Network is integrating operations.
Hope Network COO Tim Becker says acquiring Ladder Homes is seamless.
“The fit makes sense because Hope Network, for more than six decades, has been in the business of serving people to be successful in the community and we do a lot of residential services.”
Becker says Ladder Homes fills an important housing gap service by offering independent living options to those in transition.
“These individuals are renting their own space. It’s their home. They don’t have 24-hour live-in, so it’s kind of that other piece of the continuum that I consider that next step to help people become more independent and more fully integrated into the community.”
The program will continue under the Ladder Homes name with no changes to service, staffing or operations. VanTil will remain actively involved for the next six months to ensure a smooth transition.
Hope Network hopes to expand Ladder Homes’ services over the next few years.
