GRPD is now partnering with the Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics of Michigan and has a unique police cruiser to promote it

The Law Enforcement Torch Run raises funds to help Special Olympics athletes compete at no cost, covering expenses for uniforms, equipment and travel to events.

It’s Special Olympics’ largest grassroots fundraising effort with thousands of officers around the world volunteering at competitions and raising funds through polar plunges and community runs.

A steering committee of GRPD officers and staff are planning and promoting local events, unveiling a first-of-its kind in Michigan themed patrol car to raise awareness during daily patrols and community events.
