About one thousand protesters marched from Motor City Casino to the public safety building downtown

Outside of President Trump’s visit with the Detroit Economic Club at Motor City Casino Tuesday, there were tense moments between protesters and Detroit Police.

Detroit Police wanted protesters off the sidewalk on the busy Grand River Avenue side of the casino, and instead wanted them to gather in back of the building.

Carrying an American Flag, protester Sarah Reed often stood toe to toe with officers. She was surprised by their actions:

“It's a public sidewalk, and if you and I were there this evening, this morning, before any of this, they'd have no issue with us being on the sidewalk.”

Reed says she wants President Trump to resign, and for Democrats to step up.

“Grow a set and stand up. I mean, it's, we've got to get this under control.”

At least two people were taken into custody.
