The United Auto Workers union is reportedly making changes among some of its top officials following a critical report from a federal monitor

A judge appointed a monitor over the UAW in 2021, after two former presidents of the union were sentenced to prison as part of a lengthy corruption investigation.

Now the monitor says text messages show the current UAW president’s Chief of Staff Chris Brooks, and former Communications Director Jonah Furman, conspired to retaliate against the union’s Secretary Treasurer.

Margaret Mock was re-assigned after she allegedly tried to stop some UAW officials from making purchases.

The union is reportedly re-instating Mock and an official who represented the UAW with automaker Stellantis.

Chief of Staff Brooks is expected to resign at the end of the year, while former Communications Director Furman is being demoted and temporarily suspended.
