The Kent County Health Department opened its newly renovated clinic and Environmental Health division

“This renovation really represents us modernizing this space in this building which has been a tremendous workhorse for the people of Kent County for a long time.”

Administrative Health Officer for the Kent County Health Department Adam London helped cut the ribbon on the newly renovated clinic, which enhances patient confidentiality and expands service capacity. Separate waiting rooms will now greet families, one for WIC and immunizations…

“And then we have a separate waiting room for our personal health services are, which is many of our sexually transmitted illnesses and things that more commonly are affecting an adult population, and so we want to separate those two experiences from the beginning for everyone’s comfort.”

Exam rooms have been added with improved soundproofing.

“Where before, we had very thin walls and so we couldn’t use all of our exam rooms simultaneously because you were overhearing confidential information in the exam room next door.”

The clinic was originally built in 1979. The renovation was funded mainly through ARPA funds as well as infrastructure dollars and grants from the county and health department.
