The cameras could show distorted images or blank screens when the vehicle is going in reverse.
The problem affects some 2015 through 2020 model year Ford Explorers, Escapes, Mustangs, Flexes, Fiestas, C-Maxes, Taurus, Fusions, Lincoln MKT’s and MKZ’s.
Ford has faced a rash of difficulties involving rear view cameras.
Last month Ford recalled almost two million vehicles because of the issue.
A year ago the Dearborn-based automaker agreed to pay a 165-million-dollar penalty after federal safety regulators found Ford failed to recall vehicles with defective cameras in a timely fashion.
