Ottawa Hills High School sports spectators will notice something new on its playing fields. A ribbon cutting ceremony was held dedicating three new scoreboards

It’s a first for these fields at Ottawa Hills High School: electronic scoreboards. Three of them were purchased by its booster club with financial assistance from two corporate partners. Ottawa Hills Principal and alumni Dr. Timothy Mabin.

“Our athletes will light up with goals, runs, and victories that continue the legacy of Ottawa Hills pride.”

“None of this happens without the steady support of the GRPS Foundation and our leadership team at Ottawa Hills.”

Meijer contributed $30,000 toward the purchase of the scoreboards, while Consumers Credit Union donated just over $29,000 to cover installation costs. Junior Aracelle Chales-Jeronimo is a member of the school’s soccer team.

“I’ve been watching this program grow for eight years now, because I had an older sibling who played earlier, and so to be part of such a milestone is truly incredible.”

Ottawa Hills’ next major project is an auditorium renovation.
