The Holland Planning Commission approved Dwelling Place’s application for two structures: a two-story, 14-unit building in the 100 block of West 10th Street, and a three-story, 38-unit building in the 300 block of Kollen Park Drive.
From the 52 units, at least 11 will be reserved for people with disabilities, while another eight units will be set aside for individuals or families with tenant-based vouchers. Head of real estate for Dwelling Place Jacob Horner explains.
“They’re called section 811 vouchers, but essentially those are vouchers that are available for folks with disabilities that will be able to live there that will help them pay for their rent.”
Dwelling Place is partnering with the Little River Band of Ottawa Indians to reserve 11 units for members or descendants of tribal nations.
Dwelling Place has also secured a 9% Low-Income Housing Tax Credit to help finance the project. Other funding sources include American Rescue Plan funds, donations and other federal programs.
Construction is slated to begin in September and take approximately 12-14 months to complete.
